The National Weather Service (SHV) has issued a/an Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Union Parish from 7:28 PM Saturday until 8:15 PM Saturday.

At 728 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Wesson, or 10 miles southwest of El Dorado, moving south at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 Mph Wind Gusts And Quarter Size Hail.

IMPACT...Hail Damage To Vehicles Is Expected. Expect Wind Damage To Roofs, Siding, And Trees.

The National Weather Service (SHV) has issued a/an Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lincoln & Union Parish from 6:17 PM Sunday until 7:15 PM Sunday.

At 617 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 10 miles southwest of Bernice to over McNeil, or along a line from 13 miles north of Grambling to over McNeil, moving southwest at 10 mph.

The Friends of Black Bayou are hosting their 1st Saturday Kids Program this Saturday at 10 AM at the Conservation Learning Center at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge

This Saturday is all about TURTLES! Kids will learn about the turtles that live right here in our area and then make their own turtle necklace to take home. 🐢

The 1st Saturday Kids Program is a great way to introduce children to nature, wildlife and the outdoors and it’s completely free.

If you haven’t visited Black Bayou lately, this is also a perfect excuse to go. Black Bayou Lake NWR is one of the hidden and often-overlooked gems of Northeast Louisiana, offering families a beautiful place to explore and learn about the wildlife in our own backyard.

🏈 NOW HIRING: PART-TIME SPORTS BOARD OPERATORS 🎙️

Love sports? Interested in radio and live broadcasting? The Radio People are looking for dependable, detail-oriented people to join our team as part-time Board Operators for live sports broadcasts.

Board Operators play an important behind-the-scenes role in making sure our games sound great on the air. Responsibilities include:

🏈 Managing audio during live sports broadcasts
🎙️ Keeping broadcast levels and audio quality on track
📻 Playing commercials and other scheduled elements during games
📞 Calling reporters, coaches, and other contributors for interviews and score updates when needed
✅ Helping keep each live broadcast running smoothly from start to finish

No previous radio experience is required — The Radio People will provide training.

This is a great part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys sports, is comfortable with computers and technology, can stay focused during a live broadcast, and wants to learn how radio works behind the scenes.

Most shifts will involve evening and weekend sports broadcasts, so schedule flexibility is important.
