📣 CITY OF NEWBURGH ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY SURVEY FOR CITY MANAGER SEARCH 📣

The City of Newburgh is seeking community input as it begins the recruitment and selection process for the next City Manager. Pursuant to Resolution No. 160-2026, approved by the City Council on July 13, 2026, the City has entered into an agreement with MGT Impact Solutions, LLC to conduct a search and facilitate the recruitment process to identify suitable candidates for the position.

As part of the search, MGT Impact Solutions is inviting residents, community organizations, and other stakeholders to share their perspectives on the leadership qualities and experience they believe are most important. It also provides an opportunity to identify the challenges the next City Manager should be prepared to address.

This feedback will help MGT Impact Solutions and City leadership better understand the priorities, expectations, and qualities the community believes are critical for the next City Manager to succeed. All responses will remain confidential.

All surveys must be completed online, or mailed back no later than August 26, 2026.

Around New York, there are properties that have been issued code violations yet continue in a state of disrepair, due either to negligence or unwillingness to comply by the owner. This dereliction creates safety issues for tenants and undermines property values in the surrounding neighborhood.

I’m delighted to see my bill establishing an emergency repair pilot program, S.1838, pass the Senate. This would authorize participating municipalities to make repairs where negligent property owners refuse to, and subsequently affix the associated costs to property tax bills to ensure repayment.
