🥨 INITIAL FEEDBACK ON PRETZELS 🥨


- Good Flavor
- Good outside crunch
- Needs to be a bit softer on the inside
- Too much salt

I agree with all of this, and very much appreciate the feedback. That’s why I like to do these free taste-testers.

I foresee two adjustments I’ll make for the next batch:
1. Reduce the amount of salt by 2/3rds
2. Increase oven temperature and reduce bake time

This is my favorite part of the making/baking process…dialing-in these recipes. If you scroll back through the entire history of this Uncle Mike’s page, you’ll see my many adjustments based upon your feedback. I consider this pretty profound. My recipe book is a living record of community involvement.

📢 SOMETHING NEW 🍁


Since I make my own blends of brown sugar, I’m considering experimenting with a new frosting for my Apple Spice with Toasted Walnut Cake.

This coming week I’m going to try something called a Penuche Frosting (pronounced: peh-noo-chee)…or Brown Sugar Frosting

One of my absolute favorite things in the entire world is to revisit a new customer and ask them how they liked their baked goods, and their answer is, “Uncle Mike…them cinnamon rolls were so old school!!”

That does it for me. My day is made. To me, “Old School” means beyond dang good. It means, when they took a bite, it transported them back to a place in their youth. A place and time when the world was right, the sun was shining, and the skies were a brilliant shade of blue. A time when all the right people were still alive. A place of comfort, peace, and joy.

That’s what this is all about. You can keep the money. You can have the influence and prestige. I’m after this. I’m after the heart ♥️ That’s how I know I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing.

I’ve got all of my taste-testers identified.

Anticipate the pretzels to be ready for delivery sometime later this week. I’ll contact each of you to arrange a day/time so they are as fresh as possible.

I’ll have 10-20 taste-tester slots available, so get your names to me quickly along with what day/time next week works best for you.

Fresh Traditional Pretzels are extremely perishable, so they should be eaten within a few hours…definitely the same day.

🐿️ SQUIRREL FEEDERS STILL AVAILABLE 🍁


It will only be a few weeks before the Fox and Grey Squirrels begin to forage, gather, and hoard.

I still have Building Slots open for Squirrel Feeders from now through October.

I will eventually add a small section to our webpage for my woodworking projects, but for now, please reach out to me if you’re interested in purchasing one.
