Please join us in CONGRATULATING Monroe High Swim & Dive Coach ERIN DOWEN, who has been named the 2025 GIRLS SWIM COACH of the YEAR in the Southeastern Conference Red Division!

“The SEC Red has three state-ranked teams on it. It’s a HUGE honor to receive this from my peers,” Coach Dowen shared. “I am so proud of how hard my team works,” she expressed. “They make coaching easy!”

This was her 4th year as Varsity Girls Head Coach for the Lady Trojans. The group photo is from the Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (MISCA) meet in Holland, Michigan. Coach Dowen is pictured with Blayne Lynch, Morgan Kleinow, Sophia Smith, Madison Mahoney, Abby Dieckmann, and Delani Willey.

Coach Dowen is proud of what the team has accomplished. “We finished the regular season with an 8 - 4 record, won the Southern Michigan Independent Swim League (SMISL) Relay meet for the 2nd year in a row, qualified 6 ladies for the MISCA Meet, and placed 2nd in the Monroe County Meet & Wayne Invitational,” she shared. The team heads to Dundee for the SMISL Championships this Saturday (November 15th) for their last meet of the year.

The MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) is hosting the Fifth Annual Winter Coat Drive, running now through November 27.

We are accepting new or gently used coats of all sizes. Our goal is to fill as many collection boxes as possible to help ensure that everyone has access to warm outerwear during the cold months ahead. All donations will remain local to benefit our communities directly.

Donations can be dropped off at any MSP post or weigh station.
