Early this morning, City of Monroe Detectives executed a search warrant as part of a narcotics trafficking investigation after the road patrol received a tip regarding narcotics activity at a residence. Further investigation revealed that a previous tip had also been provided about the exact location involving narcotics and weapons.

The operation was carried out by the Special Response Team (SRT) at a residence in the 500 block of E. Front Street. The search resulted in the recovery of fi****ms, ammunition, a small amount of narcotics residue, and additional evidence consistent with narcotics trafficking. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

“We are committed to disrupting illegal narcotics activity that threatens the safety of our community,” said Director Tolstedt. “The recovery of fi****ms and ammunition alongside evidence of drug trafficking highlights the dangerous nature of this type of crime.”
