What a great day to celebrate our VAPA students who performed at Carnegie Hall. As the mom of a music student (who just so happens to turn 21 today), I can't tell you enough how the arts have allowed me to see the world in a much more beautiful way. Congratulations to these Warhawks! Hope Carnegie Hall was all you expected and more!

I was able to snap a quick selfie with some of our CPC sorority members who are already hard at work preparing for recruitment and the new semester! Their energy and excitement for the fall are amazing and I’m just as eager to welcome our students to campus. With so many student organizations and clubs to get involved in, there’s something here for everyone. Just 12 more days until the first day of the fall semester! Geaux Warhawks!

Thursday night, one of our very own ULM staff members was recognized as a Top 20 Under 40 winner! We are incredibly proud of Chris Williams and all of the other nominees from ULM, as well as our amazing alumni who were a part of this event.

On Tuesday, I was able to meet with members of our local 4-H club. As a lifelong supporter of agriculture and a 4-Her myself, I enjoyed hearing from these students about their experiences in 4-H and their goals for the future.

We hope to see these students on our campus and hopefully as future Warhawks!

From D.C. to the Bayou—ULM welcomed Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson to campus for yesterday’s Monroe Chamber of Commerce luncheon. His visit brought national perspective to our local community, right here in north Louisiana. As a special Warhawk welcome, I presented him with a ULM football jersey. Thanks for making the trip, Speaker Johnson!

It was a pleasure to attend “Bubbles on the Bayou” last night at ULM’s football stadium! Coach Bryant Vincent shared a preview of the future of the Warhawk football program and highlighted the changes implemented thus far. The energy was incredible, and everyone is thrilled for this upcoming season! Thank you to all of the exceptional women who joined us and to everyone who helped make this event possible. Your support plays a vital role in making ULM the amazing university it is today! Geaux Warhawks!

On Monday, I had the joy of visiting the Emily Williamson Laboratory School right here on our ULM campus. I read to a class and was able to join in on their fun-filled Water Day! I am grateful we have this incredible school as part of our university where the next generation can learn, grow, and explore. Geaux Warhawks!

Today, I had the privilege of attending a luncheon with Congresswoman Julia Letlow, alongside sponsors, elected officials, and community leaders. It was an amazing opportunity to hear how she is representing our district and continuing her advocacy on the importance of education. I was also fortunate to connect and engage in meaningful conversations with many others who are dedicated to serving and strengthening our communities. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to be part of such an enjoyable and informational gathering!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Kitty Degree Nursing School and connecting with prospective students participating in the Health Sciences Boot Camp. It was fascinating to hear about the importance of health education and the many ways our Health Sciences programs prepare students for their careers.

Thank you Discover Monroe-West Monroe for the opportunity to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the 2025 Babe Ruth Southwest Regional Baseball tournament. We welcomed 66 teams from Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida to our beautiful Lou St. Amant Field at ULM. Definitely future Warhawks here!!
