In 2012, we arrived on the Croisette with our DCP for Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution in hand for our screening because the DHL shipment was late. That screening was transformative for Coffee Bluff Pictures. We were on the global stage with a film shot in Paris and New York. This year, we’re back at Cannes with Romare Bearden: A Life in Collage—still telling the stories that define Coffee Bluff Pictures.
This film celebrates a Black artist whose visual language is rooted in the rituals and traditions of the African American experience, yet speaks to audiences everywhere.
We’re deeply grateful to our extraordinary executive producers Jocelyn Moore, Kim Paige, Robin Lyon, and Alva Greenberg, and to our consulting producer Lynn Waymer and Mikki Taylor—patrons of the arts and true cinephiles who showed up for this story. And huge shout out ot our producer Jarobi Morehead ( 3 Emmys on his shelf) and our creative force and Founder Deborah Riley Draper who wrote and directed this beautiful film. And big thanks to our editors Francesca Sharper and Mari Keiko Gonzalez.
From Versailles ’73 to Romare Bearden, we’re honored to keep expanding the frame.
