Healthcare facilities managers (FMs) grapple with issues that shape patient experience and safety. Kevin Poggenpoel, president of the IFHE - International Federation of Healthcare Engineering, points out that many of the same challenges impact FMs across the world. Through participation in global discussions, FMs gain perspective into how their peers are creating safer, more resilient environments.

From October 17-20, 2026, IFHE will provide an opportunity for U.S. facilities and PDC managers to connect with their peers from around the world. The Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP), the U.S. representative to IFHE, in partnership with EmeraldX, is hosting the 2026 World Congress in New Orleans. The event will be co-located with the Healthcare Design (HCD) Conference + Expo. To learn more about the event and IFHE, read the article by Megan Headley at the link below,

Combining durability, sustainability and high design, craft-manufactured site furnishings make facilities run smoother and help their people thrive. In this White Paper, Landscape Forms explains how and why investing in products that combine high design, U.S. craft manufacturing. and long-term durability reduces operational challenges while supporting sustainability and user satisfaction. The benefits extend from lowering the total cost of ownership through fewer replacements and reduced maintenance to ensuring consistency across spaces and creating environments that remain welcoming and relevant as facilities evolve.

Facility managers also find that durable, design-forward outdoor site furnishings also enhance the user experience, offering comfort, functionality and connection to nature in equal measure.
