On a hot summer weekend of 2019, we had the distinct privilege & pleasure of working on Pizza Party - A Short Film, which StoneStreet Cinema associate produced.

Written and directed by Tessa Hope Slovis, "Pizza Party" is based on a true event preceding the Larry Nassar trials, where an unlikely pair come together at a dystopian pizza party for sexual assault survivors.

"Pizza Party" has been an Official Selection of various film festivals across the country, with its next appearance taking place in the very town we filmed in at the Montclair Film Festival (virtual screenings from Oct 16-25)!

It's been awhile since you've seen us! And it'll probably be awhile 'til you see us again.

"What We're Watching - Lulu Wang's 'The Farewell'"
by Andrew K. Meyer

For the second selection of our "What We're Watching" blog series, we wrote about The Farewell, a dark yet heartfelt comedy starring Awkwafina at the head of 2019's greatest ensemble.

"In April of 2016, Lulu Wang appeared on an episode of 'This American Life' and told an incredible true story that occurred two years previously. Her grandmother (or “Nai Nai”) was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, and everyone in her extended family was informed- that is, everyone except Nai Nai- a decision that is actually quite common among traditional Chinese families. She was given roughly three months to live and with family spread throughout China, Japan and New York, Wang’s father devised a plan to stage a wedding for her cousin as an extravagant excuse to bring the whole family together to see their Nai Nai one last time."

StoneStreet is honored to be onboard as Associate Producers for Pizza Party - A Short Film!

“Pizza Party” is a short film that takes place the night before the Larry Nassar trials began, set at a dystopian and all too anemic pizza party for his survivors. It is a film about women, made by women. With Tessa Slovis at the helm as its writer and director, we are more than grateful to be a part of this exciting and important project.

The “Pizza Party” Indiegogo has only THREE DAYS left to meet its goal, and any donation of any size would mean the world.

"Reflections on Like Glass"
by Andrew K. Meyer

In our latest Blog post, Andrew breaks down the two-and-a-half year emotional and technical odyssey of directing David Elijah's "Like Glass", from its first meeting to its final festival.

In 2017, while producing various commercial productions, StoneStreet partnered with Little Blondie Films to produce Like Glass, a dramatic short film centered on a non-binary individual exploring their identity against the backdrop of the club kid scene in New York City. It is their largest-scale narrative project to date.
