Not What It Is… tells it like it is… through a paradoxical circularity that revolves around a center and works outwards to explore and challenge the boundaries of what we call the art world. It refuses opposing positions of what can be described and what cannot, tending instead towards their dynamic relationship. In their telling, definitions are illusive and we are still left with a sense of wond

er. Art, like life rejects understanding while at the same time demanding it. We play in the Garden State, but that play is serious, and our care and concern extends beyond its borders to encompass the world we are immersed in.

This is her first solo show here at the gallery and it features a suite of new conceptual, figurative paintings created during the past 18 months. Our Saturday hours are 11am-5pm. Posted • Unfortunately, the gallery will be closed today. In the meantime, enjoy this lovely installation pictures of Jenna Ransom’s show, Ever New.

These are “Growing,” “Sweet Thoughts,” and “Wishful Thinking.”

The paintings in Ever New reference new beginnings, transformations, rebirth, and renewed visions.

Ransom was inspired by this song of the same name by Beverly Glenn Copeland, from his 1986 album Keyboard Fantasies.

Ransom lives and works in Brooklyn New York. She received her MFA from Pratt Institute in 2005. She is a NYFA painting fellow and has been awarded residencies at Sharpe-Walentas, the Bronx Museum of Art, the Abrons Art Center, and Vermont Studio Center.

I can’t wait to show you this work. Looking forward to returning next week. 🤞
