Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday, whether you spent it with family or dear friends! We decided to celebrate surviving the year with 2 of my favorite things- sushi and riesling!!!! Going to be doing more fun, off-kilter pairing in this coming year. 💓🍷🍣

The rieslings:

2022 Fraulein Riesling (perpetual favorite of mine)
2016 Riesling (This was so good. I hope he eventually makes another...!)
1989 Nussbrunnen Auslese (tasted phenomenal!!!!! I will drink any aged rieslings from this winery, they are always 🔥)

Oh man! This was my very first Bulgarian wine!!! And it was crazy funky and tasty... there's a little European specialty...

Oh man! This was my very first Bulgarian wine!!! And it was crazy funky and tasty... there's a little European specialty store near me, and they have a tiiiiiny back room where they have a selection of more traditional sweeter Eastern European wines... but they have some really cool dry gems as well. This was $9.99!!! I love getting to try wines I hadn't thought I'd ever get, especially ones with long histories that get overlooked.

Smidge over a month since the last post, I have added nutrients and racked in this time between.... so Ms Chardon-yay is still fermenting a little bit, but she's also starting to settle out and clarify~~~~ I'm not going to induce malolactic conversion, not going to oak treat, so hopefully she stays as clean and crisp as she tasted when I last tested her! 💛💛💛🥂
