These fine folks need our help, people. Please do what you can. Pick up a shift. Make some food. Donate money or some of their requested items. Make some new friends, too, while you're at it. The people running this shelter are amazing.
So...here are some updates.
We are opening another shelter today, Friday, January 10 at United Church of Cookeville at 502 Gould Drive in Cookeville. The shelter at the Cookeville Community Center is at capacity, and we believe the Cookeville Rescue Mission will also be at capacity soon with their Code Blue program
This means there are 3 sheltering options in 3 different areas of town. It also means that we are splitting our resources, and we hope you will help us expand them.
If you are able to volunteer or just want to donate you can do so at this link: https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/332061362038/false #/invitation
Current needs are:
Warm blankets or comforters
Pillows and pillowcases
Warm clothing: gloves, coats, boots, hats, etc
Food, snacks, beverages and such...the restaurant-style coffee packs for a percolator are a gem.
Prayers, love and support.
Thank you...We are a strong and dedicated community
