The awkward stage is real, and it's temporary. Those first few small group meetings, the conversations that feel a little forced, the wondering if you fit in... that's all just the bridge to something genuinely good.

When Jesus appeared to Paul on the road to Damascus, Paul fell to the ground. Blinded, overwhelmed, and undone. But notice what Jesus said next. He told Paul to get up and stand on his feet. He did not leave him face down in the dirt. That moment tells us something profound about who God is. He is not the great lowerer. He is the great lifter.

Shame wants to keep you on the ground. It wants you to believe that staying low is what you deserve. But God's posture toward you is always upward. He lifts. He restores. He commissions. Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus endured the cross, scorning its shame. He did not just tolerate shame. He took it on Himself and defeated it. The shame that was meant to define you, Jesus bore so that it no longer has to.

You do not have to earn your way back to standing. Jesus already did the heavy lifting. Your job is simply to receive what He has already done and let Him raise you to your feet. Wherever you are today, God is not pressing you further down. He is reaching down to lift you up. Let Him.
