Today’s Ballot Challenge is Sheriff.

A lot of people see this race on the ballot and think only about law enforcement experience.

But the elected Sheriff is not just another officer.
The Sheriff is the elected law enforcement leader for the county.

This position leads the Sheriff’s Office and helps set the tone for how law enforcement is carried out locally.

The Sheriff is responsible for leadership over:
• deputies and staff
• patrol priorities
• public safety response
• warrants and court related duties
• county jail operations
• inmate custody and transport
• cooperation with courts and prosecutors
• accountability, training, and conduct
• community trust and transparency

This office can impact public safety, how laws are enforced, how the jail is managed, how complaints are handled, and how the community interacts with law enforcement.

That is why this race deserves more than a quick glance.

Today’s challenge:
Take 10 minutes and research the Sheriff candidates on your ballot.

Look at their experience.
Look at their leadership record.
Look at how they talk about public safety, accountability, constitutional rights, jail management, and community trust.

Search for interviews, forums, podcasts, or videos of them speaking.

Review their campaign finance reports and ask who is financially supporting them.

Then pray and ask God for wisdom and discernment.

You do not have to know everything to start. You just need to take the next faithful step.

I will put candidate contact information and questions you can copy and paste in the comments.

If you want the links, reminders, and bonus research information emailed to you, join The Ballot Challenge email list.

When you finish today’s challenge, drop a 🚔 in the comments.

Today, we are continuing to pray over the candidates running for office for the primary on May 19th.

Leadership is not just about authority. It’s about stewardship.

Every position, every opportunity, and every influence we’ve been given is ultimately a gift from God and a responsibility to serve others well.

Today’s Scripture:
1 Peter 4:10
“Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.”

Today, we’re praying that every candidate, every team, and every voter would understand the importance of serving with humility, wisdom, and integrity.

That leadership would be viewed not as power to hold over people, but as a calling to faithfully steward what God has entrusted to them.

Take time today to meditate on this scripture and pray through it.

If you feel led, send this to your favorite candidates or friends and invite them to join you in prayer.

Today’s Ballot Challenge is all about County Commission.
A lot of people skip over this race because they do not realize how much County Commissioners can impact everyday life.

County Commissioners make decisions connected to roads, infrastructure, budgets, public services, emergency management, zoning, and development.
That means this race can affect traffic, growth, housing, public safety resources, and what your community looks like over time.

In today’s video, I walk you through a few practical ways to research these candidates.

First, look up their campaign contributions through the Alabama Secretary of State website.
You should always follow the money.

Who is donating?
Are there patterns?
Are there industries, businesses, PACs, or groups that keep showing up?

That does not automatically mean something is wrong, but it gives you another piece of the picture.

Second, email the candidates directly.

I am putting four questions in the comments that you can copy and paste.

Third, search online and see if you can find videos or clips of them speaking.

Listen for how they answer questions about growth, infrastructure, spending, transparency, and local concerns.

Fourth, go to the County Commission website and review meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
This helps you see what issues are actually coming before the commission.

And lastly, pray.

Ask God for wisdom and discernment.
The goal is not to know everything.
The goal is to take one faithful step toward being prepared before election day.

Alabama- Not sure who to vote for?

Are you overwhelmed when you look at your ballot?

You are not alone.

A lot of people want to honor God with their vote, but they do not know where to start.

That is why I am inviting you to join The Ballot Challenge.

Over the next few days, we are going to spend 10 minutes a day researching the candidates for each seat on the ballot.

We are going to look at:
• what each office actually does
• who is running and how to contact them
• how to review voting records
• how to discover who is financially supporting them

Because you should always follow the money.

The goal is not to know everything.

The goal is to take one faithful step at a time so when election day comes, you can vote with confidence.

Start today by printing off your ballot.

The sample ballot link and email list link are both in my bio.

Sign up for the email list if you want reminders and a more in depth look at each office and candidate research step.

Drop a 📜 once you have printed your ballot.

Drop a 📧 once you have signed up for the email list.

Today is day 6 of praying over the candidates running for office for the primary on May 19th.

Where are we turning for peace, wisdom, and security during this election season?

So much of politics is driven by fear, anxiety, frustration, and uncertainty.

But our refuge is not found in politics. Our refuge is found in the Lord.

Today’s Scripture:
Psalm 34:8
“Taste and see that the LORD is good. How happy is the person who takes refuge in him!”

Today, we’re praying that every candidate, every team, and every voter would turn to God as their source of wisdom, peace, and direction.

That in the middle of pressure and uncertainty, people would encounter the goodness of God for themselves.

Take time today to meditate on this scripture and pray through it.

If you feel led, send this to your favorite candidates or friends and invite them to join you in prayer.

Let’s stay faithful. Let’s stay grounded in His Word.
