Republican Michael Holmstrom Jr. captured 62% of the vote Tuesday to fill the seat left vacant by the late Sen. Bruce Anderson.

The 31-year-old Buffalo business owner says he’s ready to “hit the ground running” — and even called DFL opponent Louis McNutt this morning to say he wants to make sure McNutt’s voice is heard in St. Paul.
