We’ve been made aware of an active scam involving individuals posing as Kirby Medical Center recruiters. These scammers are sending fake job offers via email and asking for personal banking or credit card information.

🔒 Please know:

✅ KMC does not request personal financial information via email

✅ We typically conduct in-person interviews

✅ All legitimate communication will come from verified Kirby Medical Center contacts

If you think you’ve been contacted by a scammer regarding a job at KMC, please call 217-762-1506 to report it directly.

Your safety matters—stay alert and protect your information!

📢MONTICELLO RESIDENTS📢
What was that crazy alarm/siren this morning?!?! We believe it was caused by a malfunction with one of the tornado sirens located in the Sothern part of town. There is nothing to fear and we are working with the City of Monticello to resolve this issue. We are sorry for any panic or inconvenience this may have caused.
❗️ THROUGHOUT THE MORNING (06-17-2025) you may hear the siren activate again during restart and testing. DO NOT BE ALARMED. This planned in an effort to resolve any further issues. ❗️ Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

Piatt County Animal Shelter will be having their annual rummage sale and Krispy Kreme Doughnut sale on Saturday, June 14th, 8:00 to 1:00 at 301 South Charter Street.

Preorder your doughnuts by 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 11th. with pickup during rummage sale hours. A dozen Original Glaze or a dozen Chocolate Iced $13.00 per dozen, or for $15.00 per dozen Filled Glazed Doughnuts (either raspberry, lemon or cream). Contact the shelter with your order at [email protected]; Facebook, or by calling 217-762-7227. Original Glaze Doughnuts, sold by the dozen, will also be available for sale during the rummage sale – while supply lasts.

Rummage sale donations of gently used items will be accepted starting Monday, June 9th through Thursday, June 12th 8:00 am – 11:00 am each day. For an afternoon or evening drop-off time, contact the shelter at 217-762-7227. Please no electronics or appliances. All proceeds to benefit the animal shelter.
