Twelve years have passed since the devastating EF5 tornado struck Moore, Oklahoma, leaving an indelible mark on our community. The tornado's immense destruction was over a mile wide, claiming 24 lives, including eight children, seven of whom were seeking shelter in the same school. Hundreds were injured, and the tornado traveled 14 miles over a period of approximately 40 minutes, as reported by the National Weather Service.
On that day, in full panic I ran to get our kids out of school and rush for shelter. What still resonates deeply with me is the memory of the young lives lost.
I was motivated to take action and contribute to my community's recovery, I offered my bucket truck to assist in debris removal, utilizing trailers, chainsaws, and wheelbarrows.
Furthermore, I had the opportunity to rebuild four sets of channel letters and a pylon sign at a local shopping center in Moore.
We will never forget the lives lost, the way it changed Moore forever, and how it made us .
