I’ve been named a Top 10 Finalist for the 2025 Lake Norman Woman of the Year Award 🏆

What started as a solo leap of faith — walking away from comfort to build something of my own — has turned into a business I LOVE, a mission I believe in, and a life that reflects my values. I started Sharon Rachel Interiors to create more than just beautiful homes — I wanted to CHANGE what it looks like to be a woman in construction, design, and business 🤝

I’m a mother, a designer, a business owner, and a woman who’s built from the ground up in industries not designed for women like me. And now? I get to stand alongside some of the most inspiring women in this community. WOW ✨

Frank Lloyd Wright is known for iconic architecture, but his impact on interior design is just as revolutionary. His principles continue to inspire spaces that balance beauty and functionality today!

Here’s how his visionary ideas transformed the way we live:
Open Floor Plans
Wright broke free from traditional boxed rooms, creating spaces that flow. His open-concept designs allow for greater connection and freedom, making our homes feel larger and more inviting.

🛋️ Built-In Furniture
Instead of adding furniture to a space, Wright integrated it. His custom built-ins were designed to work with the architecture, adding both function and harmony to the home.

🌿 Natural Materials & Earthy Tones
Wright used wood, stone, and earthy colors to create a seamless connection between the indoors and the outdoors. His designs brought the beauty of nature into the home, making spaces feel grounded and timeless. (personal favorite design decision of mine)

As someone who grew up near Fallingwater, the stunning home pictured and designed by Wright, I’ve always been inspired by his work.

Fallingwater, built over a waterfall on the Bear Run stream, remains the ONLY Wright house with its original setting, furnishings, and artwork intact. WHICH IS INCREDIBLE! Since its public debut over 80 years ago, people from around the world have visited and experienced Fallingwater and its surrounding landscape. But not many people know that the story of Fallingwater is more than 100 years in the making.

Though Frank Lloyd Wright passed away on April 9, 1959, his work lives on. He believed that a home should be a total work of art, and that philosophy still shapes modern interiors today.
