The Build for Off Road Adventure Ride isn’t just about conquering trails; it’s about a shared passion for the off-road community. And as it turns out, one of the most exciting rigs coming on the ride has a unique shared history between two of the participating drivers!

Recently, the Two Guys Garage Podcast brought together a few of the Adventure Ride participants, inviting Build for Off Road host Ian Johnson from Big Tire Garage and Nate Pickel of “Dirt LifeStyle” to join podcast hosts Kevin Byrd and Willie B to talk about the trip. They discussed everything from their vehicle prep to what they’re most looking forward to on the ride route, and gave us the inside scoop on Nate’s one-of-a-kind rig.

While much of the focus for the Build for Off Road Adventure Ride has been on the rock-crawling rigs tackling the most punishing trails, support trucks also play a crucial role in expeditions like this. Even if these vehicles aren’t attempting white-knuckle obstacles like Backdoor in Johnson Valley, they still need to be capable of handling challenging off-road terrain, carrying gear, and providing support for the entire crew.

That’s why Factory Five Racing is joining the Adventure Ride and sending its capable XTF test truck into the fray as a pre-runner.

We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of our longtime friend and client, Chris Raschke of . Chris tragically lost his life during Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats—an event that perfectly embodied his passion for speed, innovation, and pushing the limits.

Chris was more than a client at Brenton Productions for decades—He always brought his energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence to make every project better, and every meeting more memorable.

We’ll miss his quick wit, his love for the craft, and the genuine spirit he brought to everything he touched. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and everyone at ARP Bolts.

“You know, one of the most stressful times for me is before a race, going through the tool bags or packing tool bags,” says Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Famer Brad Lovell, “because you’re trying to plan for the unexpected and get yourself out of a tough situation.”

But with the Build for Off Road Adventure Ride and the brutal landscape of Johnson Valley now a reality, Willie B realized “trail-ready” wasn’t quite “Hammer-ready.” So, he and his Two Guys Garage partner-in-crime, Kevin Byrd, recently hit the shop, putting in work to upgrade this capable Jeep. Under the auspices of the North Carolina Motorsports Association in consultation with former PRI President Dr. Jamie Meyer, preparations are deep underway for The HPX’s June 2025 debut in Charlotte. “There’s still spots or pockets in the industry where there’s opportunities for growth, and there’s opportunities to bring people together,” Jamie tells the guys, as they discuss the framework and aspirations for HPX in anticipation of next summer’s inaugural event.
