Upcoming for some of this region is a rail safety enhancement between rail tracks at 14 crossings to deter vehicle intrusions into Caltrain's right-of-way and enhance public and railroad workers' safety. These rail crossings are in the Cities of San Francisco, Burlingame, Redwood, Sunnyvale, San Mateo, Menlo Park and Palo Alto, and the Counties of Santa Clara, San Mateo, and San Francisco. Public comments on the upcoming Resolution will be received up through October 28, 2025. More information can be found here: Resolution SX-166

CPUC Sets Stronger Service Quality Standards for Voice Providers Across California
 
At its Sept. 18 Voting Meeting, the CPUC approved new service quality standards that will help to ensure that Californians receive reliable telecommunication services. The Decision also extends minimum service quality standards to fixed interconnected Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) providers for the first time.

Have you ever wanted to learn more about an issue before the CPUC, or perhaps advocate as a party to a proceeding? If so, the CPUC has created three new videos to help you get involved and make your voice heard in our proceedings. These videos provide the answers you need to participate in civic discourse and policymaking at the CPUC. 
 
Closing the Digital Divide: Stories of Connection From the CPUC’s Recent Grants
 
On September 18, the CPUC approved nearly $200,000 in Digital Divide Grants to support communities across California. The funding will provide Chromebooks, tablets, and training to help students, parents, and seniors in low-income areas get connected and thrive online.
