Traveling past Crater Lake on a summer pack trip in the late 90’s in the Teton Wilderness of Wyoming.
We do two different types of pack trips in July and August.
1. Roving trips - which means we make a loop in the wilderness. These trips are 7-10 days long and can make a loop around 100 miles long. Depending on the route, the trip can be more challenging but allow you to see more country.
2. Set camp trips - we stay at the same campsite for the entire trip and ride out from there each day. These trips are anywhere from 4-10 days long. Not moving camp can be relaxing if you’re looking for more time to sit back and enjoy.
Pack trip season is among us. Which would you choose?
