Caddyshack: It's A Classic, But Where Is All The Golf...

At this point it's hard for people to not at least know some of the best lines from this one and it's billed as a golf movie, but it's it... really? Also included: Shane's wild take about the second movie.

This week we watched the 1980 comedic masterpiece Caddyshack. A chaotic masterpiece fueled by improvisation and the antics of a now infamous gopher. And we found the perfect pairing in Gopher Golfin', a crisp and refreshing session IPA by the people at Moeller Brew Barn. It’s light and crushable enough to last you through all 18 holes of Bushwood Country Club chaos.

Out now on YouTube and everywhere else you find podcasts.

We apologize getting the episode out a little late. We had an epic struggle/battle with upload speeds that lasted through the night. But don't worry the episode is out and live now, so now on with the usual announcement:

This week we grabbed our clubs and headed out to the back nine at Bushwood Country Club for a deep dive into the 1980 comedy masterpiece Caddyshack. A movie intended to be a teen comedy about the working class hijinks on the links that was hijacked by Murray, Chase and Dangerfield. In the process, and with the help of an animatronic gopher, they accidentally created a piece of film history.

And what's a day on the fairway without a great beverage and we found the perfect one to pair with this golf classic in Gopher Golfin', a session IPA by Moeller Brew Barn. Wonderfully crisp, but sitting at a lower, "sessionable" ABV. It's clean, refreshing, and designed to keep your head clear whether you're playing 18 holes or trying to flush out a destructive varmint with plastic explosives.

Hey, everybody, we're all gonna get laid!

Not sure why this posted everywhere but here last night, but keep your eye out for this one later today:

Join us tomorrow on the podcast as we crash the gates at Bushwood Country Club and hitting the green as we take a look at the golf course comedy Caddyshack. Chevy Chase as a zen golfer, Bill Murray giving pure chaos energy, Rodney Dangerfield's first movie and more country club shenanigans than you can possibly handle. And because we take our movie pairings seriously, we’re washing it down with Gopher Golfin', a dangerously crushable Session IPA from Moeller Brew Barn. It's perfect for 18 holes or just sitting on your couch enjoying a classic movie.

Shane's The Thing: We Almost Had A Tobe Hooper Living Dead Movie....

Love the version we have, but it could have been something away different if things went to plan. Most of them good, but the jury is still out on that whole 3D thing.

Beau's The Thing: There's No Way He Could Afford A House Like That (Boring Or Not)

The house may have been picked for it's mundane appearance, but that doesn't stop it from being a little too unbelievable. Really, on his salary he was getting a place like that?

Did You Catch This Possible Dark Backstory About Ernie?

Lots of sinister pieces to this puzzle hidden right in front of us this whole time. Every time he's on screen they provide more information. Did you catch on to the subtle clues to Ernie's sinister origins?

This week we are diving headfirst into a muddy graveyard of punk rock and practical effects with the 1985 horror-comedy masterpiece, The Return of the Living Dead. A groundbreaking zombie tale that drastically changed the undead creatures lore. These are some sentient, fast-moving ghouls that have been brought back by some shady military experiments hidden away in a warehouse basement in Kentucky.

To survive the toxic military gas, we are cracking open a true local favorite, Dusty Bottoms, a pre-Prohibition style Kentucky Common style ale from Sawstone Brewing Co. (our local brewery). A style of beer that originates in Lousville, just like the outbreak of Trioxin zombies, and is comforting enough to help you survive the onslaught.

You mean the movie lied?

Normally We Can Find Something Worth Watching For, But This Time We Are At A Loss...

We find the good in most "bad" movies, but this one is beyond even us. It has so much going for it and for some reason it just still falls flat (probably didn't help that the trailer promised us a different movie either).

Beau's The Thing: If We Took Out Her Character, Maybe We Could Finish Telling The Father/Son Story

Not that she isn't doing a great job, but is her character even needed. This movie is trying to tell too many stories and some of them just aren't needed.
