🌊 𝐆𝐎𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐖 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐀𝐍 — 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐄𝐍𝐃
Today's first reading opens with one of the most searching questions in all of Scripture:

"Who is there like you, the God who removes guilt and pardons sin for the remnant of his inheritance; who does not persist in anger forever, but delights rather in clemency?" — Micah 7:18

The prophet Micah is asking a question that has no rival answer.

There is no one like this God.

Not a god who tallies offenses and returns to them. Not a god whose mercy has conditions attached in the fine print. Not a god who forgives but never forgets — who holds your past over you like a cloud that never fully clears.

This God delights in clemency. The Hebrew word behind "delights" means pleasure, desire, something He actually wants to do. Mercy is not a reluctant last resort for this God. It is something He leans toward.

And then comes the image that Micah reaches for to describe what happens to our sin when God acts:

"You will cast into the depths of the sea all our sins."

Not the shallow end where things can be waded back to. Not the shoreline where the tide brings things back.

The depths. Where the ocean floor is miles below the surface. Where nothing comes back up.

This is the picture God gives us of what He does with the things we are most ashamed of, the failures we replay at 3 AM, the parts of our history we wish we could change.

Cast. Into the deep.

Whatever you are carrying today — this is what Scripture says God does with it when you bring it to Him. ✝️

🔥 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒 — 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔
Paul writes something in today's reading (Romans 8:9, 11-13) that most of us have heard so many times we may have stopped actually hearing it.

"The one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit dwelling in you."

Read that again slowly.

The power that reached into a sealed tomb on the third day and raised a dead body to glorious life — that same power lives in every person who has placed their trust in Jesus Christ.

Not a version of that power. Not a fraction of it. The Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead.

So why do so many of us live as if we are powerless?

Why do we drag ourselves through days feeling like sin has more authority over us than the resurrection does?

Paul's answer is direct: "If you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live."

The power is there. The question is what we are choosing to live from.

You are not living from your own strength. You are not supposed to be. You are living from a resurrection. From a Spirit. From a power that has already proven what it can do.

On a Sunday morning — of all mornings — this is worth sitting with for more than a moment.

You are not who your struggles say you are.
You are not defined by what you cannot seem to overcome in your own strength.

The Spirit of the living God dwells in you. Walk like it is true. ✝️

🇺🇸✝️ 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘 — 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐒
On July 4, 1776, the United States declared independence — freedom from an empire, freedom to build something new.

Two hundred and fifty years later, that declaration still echoes across a nation and across the world.

Today, we celebrate that freedom with gratitude.

But on this day — of all days — Scripture reminds us of another kind of freedom. One that no founding document can grant, and no political power can remove.

"For freedom Christ has set us free." — Galatians 5:1

This freedom was declared not on a piece of parchment, but on a cross.
It was signed not with ink, but with blood.
It was not won by an army, but by One man — who laid down His life willingly, so that every person who trusts in Him could walk free.

Free from the guilt of the past.
Free from the fear of the future.
Free from the power of sin to define who you are.
Free from the shame that has followed you longer than you can remember.

This freedom crosses every border. It speaks every language. It reaches into every nation — including this one.

So today, as fireworks light up the sky and families gather and the nation celebrates — let there be another kind of gratitude in your heart.

For the freedom that was purchased before this nation existed.
For the One who gave it freely.
For the life you get to live — not just as an American, but as someone who has been set free by Christ.

🤲 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐃𝐎𝐔𝐁𝐓𝐄𝐃
Eight days. Thomas waited eight days carrying his doubt.

The others had seen the risen Jesus. They were transformed. Thomas had heard their testimonies — and still he could not get there. He needed something they hadn't needed: proof.

"Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."

There is something painfully honest about Thomas that most of us recognize in ourselves.

The prayer that went unanswered and left you wondering.
The tragedy that made you ask "where was God?"
The gap between what you were told faith would feel like — and what it actually feels like on the hard days.

Thomas is the patron saint of everyone who has ever doubted.

And here is what Jesus did with that doubt:

He came back. Specifically for Thomas. Eight days later, He appeared again — and this time Thomas was there.

He didn't scold him. He didn't say "I'm disappointed in your lack of faith." He walked straight to Thomas and said:

"Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Do not be unbelieving, but believe."

And Thomas fell to his knees: "My Lord and my God."

The most complete confession of Christ's divinity in the entire Gospel of John — came from the man who had doubted the loudest.

Jesus does not give up on the doubter.
He comes back for them.
He meets them exactly where they are.
He shows them what they need to see.

If you are in a season of doubt — you are in good company. And Jesus is on His way back to you.
