My first backpacking trip and wow, I can already see how this can become addicting! 🏕️🥾

I’ve always wanted to hike to the Lower Red Castle in the Uintas, and I had to make it happen before summer was over! 20 miles hiked and it was amazing 💯

The moment we arrived at our campsite, it started raining, so we were trying to get the tent set up when I happened to look up and see a rainbow! 🌈 Then we had a delicious dinner with a view and saw two moose right near our tent just as it was getting dark.

It felt like a dream… until night came and the weather got crazy. It started with a lightning storm, then a severe thunderstorm, followed by a windstorm, so it’s safe to say I got hardly any sleep. 😂

But then morning came, the weather was calm, moose were eating near our tent, and being able to watch the sunrise here was everything I thought it would be and more!

Here's to more backpacking trips in the future 😍

Weekday getaway at Westgate Park City 🏔️✨

We stayed at Westgate Park City for 2 nights , right at the base of Canyons Village, and it was exactly the little reset I needed. 🥹

Our suite was so spacious! It had a full kitchen, fireplace with a private balcony. Plus, there was plenty to do without even leaving the resort!

Things to do at the resort:
🏊 Indoor & outdoor heated pools
♨️ Hot tubs + adults-only relaxation pool
💆‍♀️ Serenity Spa We had the most relaxing 110 min signature massage, definitely one of the best I've ever had!
🎮 Game room + kids club
🏋️ Fitness center
🏀 Sports courts
🍽️ On-site dining at Edge Steakhouse & Drafts Burger Bar
☕ Coffee bar located in the lobby serving Starbucks coffee and light breakfast

Nearby things to do:
🥾 Hiking Trails- Red Cloud, Bloods Lake and Armstrong Trail
📍Historic Main Street- 10 min
📍Utah Olympic Park- 8 min
📍Deer Valley- 15 min
📍Canyons Village- Just outside the resort, rent an e-bike and explore the area, or take a scenic ride on the Red Pine Gondola for beautiful mountain views.

Back to Pfeifferhorn after 3 years! 🏔️
I was nervous about hiking it on a Saturday because of the crowds, so we started a little later to avoid the morning rush and we ended up having the peak all to ourselves!

Pfeifferhorn, also known as Utah’s “Little Matterhorn,” is one of the most iconic and rewarding summits in the Wasatch Range. This hike is not easy with scrambling and exposed sections, but the views from the top are breathtaking!

📍Pfeifferhorn via Red Pine Lake
🥾 10.4 miles round-trip rated Hard
⛰️ Elevation Gain- 3,697 ft
⚠️ No dogs or swimming allowed- protected watershed
🪨 Most of the trail is well-maintained until the last 1.5 miles, where it gets super steep with loose rock and scrambling. There have also been fatal rock falls in this section, so use extra caution, especially around other hikers.
🎟 Parking fee or display your America the Beautiful pass on your dashboard

Iceberg Lake took my breath away! The color of the water and the views along the trail. This was one of the clearest days we had when visiting Glacier. I would have loved to see it with icebergs floating in the water but they were all melted in August. Still 100% worth it!

📍Iceberg Lake
🥾 9.7 miles rt rated moderate
⛰️ Elevation Gain- 1,453 ft
🅿️ Parking fills up fast at the Swiftcurrent Trailhead-start early or take the shuttle.
❄️ Snow on the trail often doesn't melt until late June or July, so plan accordingly!
🐻 Prime bear country! Always carry bear spray, keep it easily accessible, and make noise while hiking.(luckily we only saw bears from the car)
🚮 Please leave no trace- pack out all of your trash, stay on designated trails, and respect the environment.

Have you added Glacier National Park to your bucket list yet? 🏔️✨
