I'm proud to say that the last thing I did on my last day at WSVM was to acknowledge and honor North Carolina State Trooper Aaron Johnson as The Wake Up Show's "Hometown Hero" for 2022. Aaron's quick and swift actions this past fall diffused a violent and dangerous situation on the side of I-40. His bravery and quick thinking saved lives. The wake up show is forever grateful for your quick thinking and bravery. WSVM chose to terminate us today. The station has underperformed financially for the past several months. I saw the decline in revenue and the fact that no one in management or sales came to the radio station for weeks on end. I saw the writing on the wall months ago and even shared with my co-host that we should not count on this job to survive. Vance Patterson, if you ever have the time I would love to sit and have an extensive conversation with you about the future success of your radio station and it's true potential if you ever want to have that conversation. I remain available should you want to talk to me. I will always tell you the truth. I know you are a good man and a successful businessman and it breaks my heart to see WSVM underperform at the level it has with regard to revenue and management. The termination memo that we received was full of lies and untruths and that hurts most of all. I appreciate all you have tried to do and given the opportunity I would love to share some revelations and realities with you regarding to your investment. You would be shocked to say the least.
