I enjoy growing and making my own teas, smudge sticks (to keep away the mosquitos outdoors), salves, herbal concoctions and for our animal runs and feed. Here are a few things you will find as a staple in our garden:
* Basil: antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antibacterial.
* Oregano: kills unproductive bacteria such as H.pylori, Streptococcus and E.coli.
* Thyme: amazing antiviral and antibacterial herb. It is a great purifying herb for the digestive tract and has been found to destroy certain intestinal hookworms and roundworms.
* Lemon balm: is an essential herb for calming the nerves. Including those behind digestive sensitivities. This herb detoxifies the liver, spleen, kidneys and helps reduce bladder inflammation. Anti-parasitic, antiviral and antibacterial.
* Rosemary: specializes in fighting antibiotic-resistant bacteria, such as those that take hold in hospitals.
* Sage: It has anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties and is an excellent natural remedy for fungal, viral, and bacterial infections.
* Peppermint: wonderful for digestive ailments. Promotes blood circulation and metabolism. It is also beneficial for respiratory issues.
Now is a great time to start them from seed indoors or in a few months local nursey's will have these for purchase. We also grow Chamomile, Stevia, and Lavender. As soon as the warmer weather gets here we will also have Dandelions/Greens, dried Dandelion Root, and Violets. If you don't have space and don't want to fuss with gardening I'll have dried herbs for your culinary or herbal pleasure!
