On this day, nineteen years ago Bioshock was released. While I was only 6 years old at the time, a decade later it became a pivotal part of my being.
Humanities, Art, Physics, Philosophy, Genealogy are all component of this MASTERPIECE of a game. No matter where I am currently with my interests, Bioshock remains my favorite story game of all time. I love dystopian fiction & decay in story themes. It’s the perfect mixture of all my interests.
I have SO MUCH planned for Bioshock content- it’s just they’re all passion projects so they’ll take longer.
I have always loved Sander Cohen & the Mad Artist trope. Fort Frolic was one of my favorite areas in the game as well. I have a head canon that he has OCD (like myself) but that he went mad from the use of ADAM. Statistically, neurodivergent people are more prone to substance abuse & I feel like with the scenario and setting- it fits
I always am so happy that I get to use my final project from Painting in undergrad especially with Sander Cohen’s cosplay.
Bioshock also holds a special place in my heart because when my first fur baby, Maxx, had passed I was struggling with the loss. He was my little buddy who sat next to me snuggled up while I game. After he passed, it was so hard to play what I had when he was here so I decided to start going down the list of games I still had yet to play…and Bioshock not only caught my attention the most, but helped me process my own grief.
If you’re not a gamer, I do recommend looking into the story lore because it genuinely is so fascinating💉
