So, I tried a little something this Monday afternoon to see if it would get my creative juices flowing. 😉

I know I have a LONG way to go to figure out this ever-changing technology, but I’ve been willing to play around with it from time to time. And honestly, sometimes it’s fun to see what it comes up with!

Anyone who has been following along for any amount of time knows I love using Scrabble tiles in my vignettes. 🖤

For this one, I’m repurposing vintage juicers (some are AVAILABLE for purchase - see comment thread for updates) to hold a little “message for the season.” 🍂

I also happen to love a good “junk jar” of vintage aluminum kitchen gadgets—and this one is a fun mix of green-handled cutters, a Foley juicer, turkey cookie cutters and a pepper shaker (AVAILABLE).

And apparently, my faithful companion 🐱 got the message and decided he was gonna jump up here, bow his head and be thankful too. 😻

I wanted to post one of those fun “What would you thrift from these shelves?” photos, but this is what I saw yesterday and it reminded me that there are people who would rather pay for me to hunt and thrift that deal with this dishelved mess themselves.

I wasn’t in the right mindset yesterday to deal with the water sprinkler stake mixed in with used Elmer’s Glue and the golf club cleaning kit. 🤯 I mean, why do they even have categories listed on the shelves if randomness is just tossed about?

❓ Do you even see anything here that would cause you to dig?
🛍️ When seeing this, are you just happy there are shoppers 🙋🏻‍♀️ out there who will do the running around and digging for you?

So, how does Thursday, October 1st look for everyone’s calendar for the Second Edition of Ally K’s Christmas? 🎄🎅🏻⭐️

It may be a long two weeks for me…hopefully I won’t buy my own stuff again. 🤣 But hey, it’ll give me time to finish staging all this and find more, I guess! 😉

🖌️ 🔨 IT’S PROJECT TIME!

I found this sweet, vintage (possibly on the verge of antique 😉) wooden highchair recently. 🫧 🧽 I’ve just wiped her down with the, good enough for baby ducks very diluted, Dawn dish soap, and now I’m trying to decide WHAT’S NEXT?

The finish is very worn, so I’m thinking about painting the legs and spindles while leaving the seat and back as they are — even though that precious little puppy (?) decal has definitely seen better days, the thought of painting over it just doesn’t appeal to me. There’s something about preserving those little bits of history and wear that makes an old piece special.

BUT…I’m open to suggestions!

Would you:
🖌️ Paint it?
🪵 Leave it completely original?
🎨 Do a combination of painted + original wood?

And then there’s ANOTHER question…

How would you use an old highchair like this in your home? 🤔

Plant stand?
Seasonal vignette?
Holiday display?
A spot for a favorite collection?

Whether it’s a stack of Grandma’s teacups, a little bird in a nest, or a lovely collection of your favorite things, a beautiful glass cloche may just take it to the next level! ✨
