This dryness of this recently passed, drought-wracked summer may have been catastrophic for some farmers and has the Lamoille River severely depleted, but it has also allowed these communities to get a glimpse, for the first time, of what a fully connected rail trail, uninhibited by seasonal flooding, could be.

The neighboring towns of Cambridge and Johnson have both been building out infrastructure that will better connect their villages and businesses to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.
