What's good Artists and Digital Creators :
Look, I've been in this music game long enough to know that talent alone won't get you where you need to be.
You need strategy, and a good place to start is by having a proper EPK – your Electronic Press Kit.
I'm still shocked how many artists have no clue what an EPK even is.
Think of it as your digital Hip Hop resume.
Just like you wouldn't walk into any legitimate business opportunity without proper documentation, you shouldn't approach music industry professionals without a solid EPK.
This digital portfolio tells your story, showcases your work, and proves you're serious about your craft.
You can research how to put together an EPK online, but some basic elements would include a bio, a list of awards, achievements, track listings and collaborations, and some decent press photos.
Once you've got your EPK locked down, it's time to put it to work.
Email it out to booking managers when you're trying to secure shows, send it to A&Rs who are hunting for the next big thing, and include it in every submission to record labels or sync companies.
Music supervisors, playlist curators, journalists, and festival coordinators – they all expect to see a EPK when they're considering working with you.
