3 Minutes With Mylan: Why do people in small towns wear so many hats?

In small towns, you’ll often see the same people coaching the ball team, serving on a board, organizing events, or answering the call when their community needs them. Not because they have extra time, but because they have a heart to serve.

The reality is that many of these roles are volunteer positions or offer very little pay, making it difficult to find people with the proper training willing or able to step up. Yet these communities continue to thrive because of neighbors who choose to invest in the place they call home.

Communities fail when no one is willing to wear these hats. And the strongest communities weren’t built by one person wearing every hat. They’re built when each of us is willing to step up and wear one.
