So many stories

Chambord Castle is the largest of the Loire castles. It was built between 1519 and 1547 near a bend in the Cosson river, a tributary of the Beuvron which then flows into the Loire. It is located in the Loir-et-Cher department, 14 km north-east of Blois and about 6 km from the left bank of the Loire. In 1981 it was inscribed in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, which is still part of it together with the entire Loire Valley. Chambord has hosted numerous characters: in addition to Francis I and Louis XIV, Francis II and Charles IX often went to hunt in the forest. Louis XIII also lived in the castle. At the time of Louis XIV, Molière stayed there and wrote a play in a few days: Monsieur de Pourceaugnac. The artist also had the show entitled The Bourgeois Gentleman represented.
