Where the Music Comes From

Faith and music have always been part of Canaan’s story. Long before real estate or Team Lucas, her world was filled with harmony, melody, and truth. Her mom, Sharalee Sherman, is a gifted Christian singer and former cohost of The 700 Club. Her voice has filled concert halls, churches, and television studios, carrying messages of hope and faith to people all over the world.

It is no surprise that Canaan carries that same love for worship. As a worship leader, she has learned that music is not just sound but connection. It brings peace, healing, and presence into every space.

Watching her mom live her calling taught Canaan to live hers with the same strength and conviction, whether she is leading worship on a Sunday morning or guiding clients through one of life’s biggest transitions.

🌟 Things You Might Not Know About Canaan

A Legacy on the Court & Beyond

Most people know Canaan as a real estate professional who leads with heart — but what many don’t know is that her father, Jerry Lucas, is an NBA Hall of Famer, Olympic gold medalist, NBA champion, and one of the NBA’s 75 Greatest Players of All Time.

On November 14, Ohio State University will honor him with a bronze statue outside Value City Arena, recognizing his extraordinary legacy on and off the court. During his time as a Buckeye, Jerry scored 1,990 points, grabbed 1,411 rebounds, and helped lead Ohio State’s only men’s basketball national championship team.

He went on to play 11 seasons in the NBA, averaging 17 points and 15.6 rebounds per game, earning seven All-Star selections, NBA Rookie of the Year, and winning the 1973 NBA Championship with the New York Knicks.

Today, Jerry continues to make an impact through his new project, Bible Memory Made Easy, a resource that helps people memorize Scripture and grow in their understanding of God’s Word. You can find the link to his site in Canaan’s profile.
