I saw my mom making a pot of tea and it reminded me that I’d actually made a tea cozy.

My tea cozy is shaped like a beehive and the little yellow and black pompom on top is a little bumblebee.

I feel like I’m making progress in my personal curriculum journey. I’m getting a really good grounding in the drafting process.

I’ve been practicing on mini bodices. I think I’m finally ready to tackle a full size bodice block for myself.

I’m following the Aldrich method for drafting my pattern. There are no darts because I’m using a method designed for knits and the inherent stretch of the garment eliminates the need for darts.

I’m catching up on my summer knitting. Between catching Covid and traveling, I didn’t get the
chance to finish my Tolsta Tee in time to wear it this summer.

I decided to finish it anyway because I’ll still wear it through the winter as a layering piece. The real question is if I’ll have enough yarn to make a matching skirt?

I had to get a couple of skeins of Lora’s Goldfinch in a Nor’easter Colorway while I was at Slip
Stitch Avenue.

Lora reinterpreted the New Jersey state bird, the goldfinch, in yarn.

The next picture is an NJ goldfinch. What do you think? Did she capture the essence of the goldfinch?

I wanted to make a quick dinner. I popped my squash in to the microwave with two tablespoons of water and nuked for 10 minutes. Next, I sautéed some cabbage, green beans , summer squash, and shrimp. I tossed some stir fry sauce in with the shrimp and veggies. When the squash was done I stuffed them with the filling and dinner was ready.

Saturday was one of those perfect fall days. I decided to take a quick run to one of my favorite local yarn stores: Slip Stitch Avenue.

I got a chance to catch up with Vera, the owner and Lora of Three Bunny Designs.

I finished up my visit to Bordentown with a quick stop in at Nola B’s Gluten Free Baked Goods for a treat.

It’s was a lovely day. I think that part of why was so saddened to hear that Slip Stitch Avenue would be closing.

While I hate to lose another LYS, I can only wish Vera and her family the best in their next chapter.
