Update to impending weekend weather forecast for Saturday night from the Tennessee Valley Weather center.
The early morning update from the NWS Storm Prediction Center for Saturday night has expanded the Level 2 of 5 risk of severe storms into our western areas. It now comes over to roughly about the Natchez Trace Parkway or a few miles east of there as its eastern border. From there, the Level 1 of 5 risk of severe storms has been expanded across the remainder of our viewing area. HOWEVER, it still appears that the storms will still be outrunning the better storm ingredients as they approach, and now, many of the reliable high-resolution computer models show the storms weakening as they approach our area late Saturday night. Still, a few isolated storms in the line may produce 45-60 mph wind gusts, and we also can't rule out a brief tornado. This is all still very much a lower-end type of threat though. It's still very possible we can get through this with most or all of the storms remaining below severe limits. We just have to be on guard Saturday night as a just in case.
