The last 24 hours have been brutal. We said goodbye to two of our three chickens. It seems silly to be as sad as I am over a few chickens but Prudence and Pearl were part of our family. We lost Pearl suddenly yesterday to a hawk and Prudence has been sick with a virus and passed away today. 2 lost in 2 days. ☹️ Both beautiful red girls will be missed. Thank you sweet girlies, for the amazing eggs and countless memories. We loved looking at our back door and seeing your faces look at us through the dog door asking for snacks. I love how you followed me around the yard and ate all the bugs while I did yardwork.

Ethel is our only hen remaining and we will do our best to keep her happy and content for the rest of her days.

RIP Prudence & Pearl ❤️❤️
