Every now and then a story comes along that makes you stop reading halfway through and ask yourself:

"What in the hell is wrong with people?"

This is one of those stories.

A Texas father and his three adult sons have all been arrested after investigators say they repeatedly sexually abused the same child over a period of years.

Read that again.

Not one offender.

Not two.

A father and three sons.

According to investigators:

59 year old Carl Laza is charged with indecency with a child.
27 year old Kaleb Laza is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
34 year old Skyler Laza, a former Houston County deputy, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
29 year old Kenan Laza, a former Gladewater police officer, is charged with indecency with a child.

And because apparently this story wasn't horrifying enough already, Skyler and Kenan Laza are also facing federal charges tied to the sexual exploitation of a child involving the production of explicit material connected to the same victim.

The same victim.

One child.

An entire family tree of alleged predators.

Authorities say the cases are linked through victim statements and evidence uncovered during a cyber tip investigation that eventually led investigators down this road.

And honestly, that's the part that hits hardest.

When people hear the word "family," they're supposed to think of protection.

Safety.

Trust.

Not this.

Not a child allegedly being victimized by multiple members of the same household over a span of years.

Cases like this remind you that monsters don't always hide in dark alleys or behind fake online profiles.

Sometimes they're sitting at the dinner table.

As always, the charges are allegations until proven in court.

But if investigators have this right, this may be one of the most disturbing family abuse cases to come out of Texas in a long time.

SHREVEPORT, La. - For months, 36 year old Matthew Britton reportedly denied everything.

Then the DNA results came back.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, the investigation began in January 2026 after a 13 year old victim came forward and identified Britton as the person responsible.

Police say Britton denied the allegations when questioned by investigators.

That's usually where these stories split into two paths:
either the evidence supports the accusation...
or it doesn't.

In this case, investigators say they obtained a DNA sample from Britton and compared it to forensic evidence collected during a hospital examination of the victim.

On May 28, authorities say those results came back.

And according to police, the evidence confirmed his involvement.

Britton is now charged with one count of Second Degree R**e.

If convicted, Britton faces a sentence ranging from five to forty years in prison without probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

And honestly, this is exactly why forensic evidence matters.

Because while stories can be disputed, excuses can be made, and denials can be issued, DNA doesn't care about anybody's explanation.

It either matches or it doesn't.

According to investigators, in this case it did.

As always, the charge is an allegation until proven in court, and Britton remains innocent until proven guilty.

But if the evidence presented by authorities holds up where it matters, in a courtroom, he could be looking at decades behind bars.
