I do believe I nailed this one. Just making magic over here! 100 feet of baseboards that will look like there are as original to the 1855 home as the mantle is.

This week has been quite labor intensive. I’ve been finishing this ceiling that 20ft at its highest point. Climbing the scaffolding 847 times a day and being hyper aware of where your hands and feet are at every moment is very intense. Very.
Stayed tuned for tips. I have some good DIY info for white wash on white oak (definitely not for a 20ft high ceiling though… leave that to the pros, please)

Just an example of how minimal the level of disruption is, if you need to wait until after you move in, to have plaster applied to your hood. It’s a 2 day process. The 2nd picture is after work on day 1. No mess, and only the range is off limits for the night.

Very excited about my faux mahogany/ faux marble project coming up 🤩 I’ll be posting a lot more samples as i work on tightening my game.
For a large scale project, I like to start refreshing my mind with samples about two weeks before I get on site, so that technique is seared into my brain. Then all I have to do is show up and crank it out. I’ve made the mistake of doing that many months ahead and then I forgot the intricacies that can’t be described in my notes. (I have lots of tales of “don’t do it the way I did”. That’s why I like to help those behind me in their path)

Would you ever have guessed the base coat was blue?? This is a good example of how the faux finish process works. The client wants something more interesting than a solid color. They give me a target color and I design a process that lands on it based on a few aspects: subtlety, depth, visual texture.
