Too funny not to share!

How far back do you remember deer being named? We did nickname deer in the 80's. Like the nine, the wide one, old one, ghost, etc.! I bet they did it in the 60's and 70's because if you were trying to talk about a certain mythical creature that the whole hunting camp, club or your family was after he had a nickname to verify which deer you were talking about!

VIDEO HAS DROPPED!!
In this video I hunt a nine point and foul the shot up because of his leg placement (explained in the video). I track him 203 yards that night and then resume 14 hours later the next morning and was blessed with the opportunity to finish him. Not exactly the way I wanted the whole hunt to go, but as one friend put it, I got to hunt him twice.
There is a long version I have not released (it is unlisted)! The whole 8 minutes of him standing at 41 yards checking the area out, the whole 7 minutes of him moving from 41 to 25 yards where I shot him and the 4 other times he defies death and comes back to life are in the long version. Thank the Lord above for this buck. Shot him yesterday evening (6:50) and made a poor shot. He had his left leg forward and his right leg back when I shot and to be honest I was a little excited and did not pay attention to that so I shot a little further back than I wanted. Hit liver/stomach. Waited till 4 hrs and went to trailing. Trailed him for 203 yards by midnight. Decided to back out and go at it again in the morning. This morning jumped him about 100 yards from where we stopped. He went slowly over the knoll and bedded again on the next knoll. I slowly snuck up the knoll and made the finishing shot. All can say is thank you Jesus for allowing me to finish the job of my mess up! Video will be coming on YouTube channel.

Always be connected to the tree by a lineman's rope or or safety line when climbing and with a safety harness or saddle and tether when at the top! Always check your equipment for damage. That's stands, straps and ratchet straps! And do not hunt out of homemade wooden stands unless you are 100% confident in the structural integrity of it!

Eighth District Game Wardens are investigating a hunting incident in Elliott Co. that resulted in the death of a 71-year-old man. Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the victim fell from the tree stand he was hunting from. The victim was found by his hunting partner after he failed to return from a late afternoon hunt. The case remains open and still under investigation at this time.
