Happy 12th birthday Son!
Thank you for bringing absolute joy into my life! We all love you so so much and you are turning into a wonderful young man who is brave, obedient, creative, adventurous, kind, loving, caring, thoughtful and so much more. God gave us a miracle and we are so grateful for you each and every day. I may not be home as much as I’d like to be, but we always make up for it when we can! I love you! Thank you for sharing your special day with me.

Are there free range elk in ??? YUP!!!

When Nick Hoffman said we had a hunt in Texas coming up I said “what’s on the menu?” he said “elk” but not just elk….he wanted to do it with a frickin awesome during the rut - This was definitely my first experience filming that combination and hopefully not the last!!! I cant thank you enough Nick for the opportunities to be a part of these great hunts when the timing permits and to the wonderful crew Sam, Ky, Justin, George, John (everyone and beyond) over Texas Hunting Resources - These guys do it right and go above and beyond !!!!! A fantastic experience and KELLI POOLE can attest as well! Really enjoyed my time building some new friendships and having some birthday fun….definitely planning to go back!

Kodiak Alaska did not disappoint!

When my good friend Collin Russell reached out and said he’d like to introduce me to another buddy of his Hunter McWaters I immediately said if he’s a friend of yours he’s a friend of mine.

The brotherly dialogue started and just like that I found myself with dates locked and an opportunity to film an epic project in Alaska as the Sea Hawk Air float plane disappeared, leaving us in the distance….

With a tag in my pocket…I had low expectations for actually getting to fill it…

It is very very rare to be a hired camera op and to also get the perk opportunity to hunt in the middle of a film project.

This buck will forever be a memory that represents the generosity shared by Hunter. In 16+ years of filming I’ve never been offered the chance to be a participant within the story.

In addition to getting my first ever blacktail & velvet buck…our buddy Zach Hellmuth was alongside to not only get his first big game animal but also helped capture this entire experience with Hunter and took these wonderful pictures. It was a beautiful 200 yard bedded shot and the buck never got up with no meat wasted…a true testament to Hunter’s equipment being dialed in ahead of time.

I sincerely believe that God had a special plan for us on this trip and we are very excited to show you the full adventure in due time (so so much great stuff)!

Hunter just released a super fresh of this entire hunt on “The Hunter’s Quest” podcast, so definitely give it a listen if you have time and are interested in more of this story…it is .

We got along so well that we’ll be joining forces again here soon in Montana so be on the lookout!

Thank you again Hunter! And it was an absolute blast getting to spend time in the field with you Zach! !!!

We survived….British Columbia did not disappoint! We put in some serious mileage, filled both tags, and made some epic & wild memories together…stay tuned for the full story soon…this adventure was absolutely action-packed!
