Annies Win - Orphans at Althoff Tonight

🏀 The Centralia Annies had no problems with the Herrin Lady Tigers Thursday night at Trout Arena winning 50-17. Centralia led throughout and held Herrin scoreless in the first and fourth quarters. Annalyn Bass led all scorers with 13 points, Kaylee Bowdler and Marley Edson each with 10, Azlynn Witthaus-Strait 9. Addy Dukes 5 and Jamayah Wallace with 3 points.
The Annies will host the Mt.Vernon Lady Rams Tuesday night.

🏀 The Centralia Orphans play at Belleville Althoff tonight. The JV games starts at 6 with the varsity to follow. The Orphans beat the Crusaders at Roxana last Friday 61-35.
The Orphans home opener is Saturday night when they host Mattoon, JV game at 6 with varsity to follow.

"I've been hunting for several years and only ever gotten doe's, never a buck. On Sunday morning my son wanted to come along with me. We went out to the stand, wasn't seeing anything for about two hours. Then we saw a buck on the left side of the stand walking away from us. I stood up and got my gun ready to shoot. The buck then turned to his left giving me a perfect shot. I shot and got him! An eight pointer. My first buck kill!"

Orphans Win Hoopsgiving Classic - Annies Home Tonight

🏀 The Centralia Orphans won the Roxana Hoopsgiving Classic for a 5th straight season, beating University City, Mo 71-44 Wednesday night.

The Orphans had 5 players in double figures led by Archie Goewey's 17, Goewey was named MVP of the tournament. Devin Meier, who made the all-tournament team scored 13, Michael Organ 12, Kenny Bratton, who also made the all tourney team scored 11 (all in the 3rd quarter). Jaxon Hancock scored 10, Dre Hooper 4, Kruz Jackson and Trey Branch with 2 points each.

Centralia, now 4-0 on the season will play at Belleville Althoff Friday night before hosting Mattoon in the home opener Saturday night.

🏀 The Centralia Orphans will finally get to play University City, Mo in the Championship game of the Hoopsgiving Classic at Roxana tonight. The game has been postponed two times (Sat & Mon). Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm. The 5th place game between Carbondale & Roxana will tip at 5:30 with the Orphans - U City game to follow. 🏀 The Centralia Annies kicked off South Seven play (for the final time) at Carbondale Tuesday night losing to the Lady Terriers 56-39. Azlynn Witthaus-Strait led the team with 11 points, Marley Edson scored 9, Kaylee Bowdler & Jamayah Wallace had 6 each, Addy Dukes 3, and Annalyn Bass and Giovanna Foster each with 2 points. Centralia is now 2-4 on the season and will host Herrin Thursday night at Trout Arena.

🏀 Orphans beat Civic Memorial, play Althoff today at 5pm 🏀

The Centralia Orphans improved to 2-0 on the season after a 62-38 win over the Civic Memorial Eagles Wednesday night at the Roxana Hoopsgiving Classic.
The Orphans had four players in double figures, Archie Goewey and Kenny Bratton had 15 points each while Devin Meier and Jaxson Hancock had 10 each. Michael Organ scored 6 points, Kruz Jackson, Trey Branch and Dre Hooper each had 2 points in the win.

Centralia will play Belleville Althoff at 5pm today in a Championship Semifinal game. The other semi features Staunton vs University City Mo at 6:30.

This was her first ever hunt, and she learned how to shoot crossbow only 3 weeks ago!
"I could see some and hear some rattling to the left over my shoulder on a hill. So I told my boyfriend and he started calling it in. The buck never came closer to the stand, but he told me if I got a clean shot just shoot. Finally got the buck to stop and I shot him at 51 yards out. I was shaking (I told my boyfriend it was because I was cold). I’m hooked!"
