Phillip got this deer on his parents property just down the road from his house while sitting in the rain. It was the first day that he'd sat in a deer stand this year. Only about 30 minutes from leaving the stand to go to the house and get dry and then this deer finally showed up! Congratulations!

"I've been hunting for several years and only ever gotten doe's, never a buck. On Sunday morning my son wanted to come along with me. We went out to the stand, wasn't seeing anything for about two hours. Then we saw a buck on the left side of the stand walking away from us. I stood up and got my gun ready to shoot. The buck then turned to his left giving me a perfect shot. I shot and got him! An eight pointer. My first buck kill!"

The Washington County Fair board is excited to announce the concert lineup for the 2026 fair on July 10, at the fairgrounds in Nashville, Illinois. This year features a special homecoming with two acts from Southern Illinois.

Country music star Gretchen Wilson, from Pocahontas, Illinois, has won multiple awards, including ACM, CMA, AMA, Billboard awards, and a GRAMMY. Her debut single, “Redneck Woman,” topped the charts for six weeks in 2004. Her first album, "Here for the Party", sold over five million copies and included three other top-five hits: "Homewrecker," "When I Think About Cheatin’," and "Here for the Party."

Opening the show is Drew Baldridge from Patoka, Illinois. With over 480 million total catalog streams, he has independently achieved great success. His viral hit, "She's Somebody's Daughter," has over 1.1 billion impressions on TikTok and 150 million streams, reaching #1 on country charts with an independent team.

Both performances are sure to create an unforgettable evening for concertgoers—a grand "Welcome Home" for both artists!

She helped lead Nashville to a 4-0 start to the season, averaging double figures, and a Nashville Thanksgiving tournament title for a 3rd straight year. This was her first ever hunt, and she learned how to shoot crossbow only 3 weeks ago!
"I could see some and hear some rattling to the left over my shoulder on a hill. So I told my boyfriend and he started calling it in. The buck never came closer to the stand, but he told me if I got a clean shot just shoot. Finally got the buck to stop and I shot him at 51 yards out. I was shaking (I told my boyfriend it was because I was cold). I’m hooked!"

Double header at the Nashville Thanksgiving tournament tonight. Okawville vs Wesclin for 3rd place at 530pm, then Nashville vs Freeburg for the title tonight at 7pm. Both will be live on v1047 and the section618 app.

Also 2 Hornet games Friday and Saturday. Nashville vs Mater Dei Friday at 6pm and Nashville vs Wesclin Saturday at 730pm.
