We’re so thrilled to welcome to the Augustine Artist Family!

Jaclyn is a passionate and dynamic guitarist whose powerful solo and chamber performances have captivated audiences across the United States. She has appeared on stages hosted by many of the country’s leading guitar organizations and festivals, including Boston GuitarFest, Philadelphia Guitar Society, Boston Classical Guitar Society, New Jersey Guitar & Mandolin Society and the Connecticut Guitar Society.

A strong advocate for new music, Jaclyn has premiered works by Sergio Assad, Apostolos Paraskevas, Damien McCluskey, and Michael Stubblefield. Her playing has been featured by Guitar Salon International, on Guitar Foundation of America’s GFAtv, and in a variety of other media outlets. She is the co-founder of the Luca Duo with award-winning mezzo-soprano Meng Chieh Hsieh, and she also serves as Artistic Director of the Connecticut Guitar Guild which she co-founded.

Jaclyn performs on Augustine Regal Blues, and when she’s not practicing, you can often find her enjoying her favorite RPGs 😎

Say hello to the newest Augustine Artist Family Member, 🤩

Stefan Koim is a German guitarist and lutenist known for his versatility and his blend of historical performance and contemporary music. He’s performed around the world from the Cologne Philharmonic to the Shanghai Concert Hall as both a soloist and chamber musician.

Alongside his work on stage, Stefan is also Head of the Guitar Department at the University of Osnabrück.

We’re so happy to have him join our roster of artists!

We’re excited to welcome Ayşegül Koca to the Augustine Strings family!!! 🥳

Originally from Ankara, Turkiye, Ayşegül has performed with major orchestras in Germany, Russia, and Mexico, and toured across the U.S., Mexico, and Europe. She’s the founder of the International Ankara Guitar Festival, holds a Doctorate in Music, and currently teaches at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University.

We’re proud to have her join the Augustine artist family!!!

Some photos from Solstice Symposium 2025

The Candlewood Hill Arts foundation is dedicated to music and preservation of historic architecture. Each June in the lovely town Higganum, we host the annual Solstice Guitar Symposium, currently anticipating its 9th installment. The symposium focuses on performance with an emphasis on chamber music with guitar, education, community outreach, and in 2026, we anticipate the inauguration of an artist-in resident program to produce new chamber works with guitar. Most of the performances take place on the Candlewood Hill farm in a restored barn built circa 1690 in the hills of Connecticut.
