The Wood Design challenge returned to the Mount Vernon Music & Arts Festival this year.
In this challenge, artists are invited to showcase their best skills through the medium of wood, demonstrating their mastery in carving, sculpting, woodworking, or any other technique that highlights their expertise.

The 2025 Theme was - Carving the Future: MVMAF Woodworks of HeART.

The Wood Design Challenge Auction total was $3,115.
The Mount Vernon Rotary Club also donated $250.
50% of the sale for each piece goes back to the artist. The other 50% goes to the festival to help cover expenses and support next year’s event.

The Kiwanis Celebrity Pie Auction at the Mount Vernon Music & Arts Festival featured 13 pies baked by local educators, and business leaders. This year’s auction total was $1,985.

Kiwanis Celebrity Pie Auction Results:
Mike Copley of CES Credit Union baked a cookies and cream pie. It was purchased for $100 by Bethann Cradick.

Dr. John Berry of Central Ohio Technical College made a mixed berry pie. It was purchased for $50 by Bethann Cradick.

Ryan Gallwitz of Centerburg Schools made a Dutch Apple Pie. It was purchased for $35 by Kathy Greenich.

Jason Snively of Danville School made a chocolate chip cake with butter cream icing. It was purchased for $25 by Michael Copley.

Ohio Eastern Star donated an apple caramel crumble pie. It was purchased for $45 by Diane Henwood.

Bill Seder from Mount Vernon City Schools made a peanut butter pie. It was purchased for $55 by Lory Neely.

Kathy Greenich from the Knox County Career Center brought a pie made by her sister Crystal Browning. It was purchased for $500 by Gary Keesee.

Katie Ellis from the United Way of Knox County made a key lime pie with chocolate topping. It was purchased for $75 by Joe and Marcy Rinehart.

Alyssa Gomez-Lawrence from Kenyon College made a peanut butter pie. It was purchased for $250 by Gary Keesee.

Jackelyn LeMaster from the Mount Vernon Key Club made a chocolate chip pie that came with a special carrier, a $20 gift card to Round Hill Diary and chocolate syrup. The package was purchased for $225 by Wendi Fowler.

Laurie Gallwitz from Park National Bank made a blueberry pie. It was purchased for $325 by John Ruckman Auctioneer.

Alice Hutzel from Knox Community Hospital made a premier peach pie. It was purchased for $200 by Kathy White.

Cindy McDowell from ACS Title made an apple crumble pie. It was purchased for $100 by David McDowell Auctioneer.

Thanks to all the bakers and buyers. Proceeds from this auction will benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library coordinated by the United Way of Knox County Ohio.
