We made a quick trip up to Chicago for an appointment at Shirley Ryan. Charlie received his second round of Botox in both legs and his right arm — and he handled it like a champ 💪🏻

He was roaming the halls like he owned the place! It meant so much to see all our friends there again❤️Grateful for the incredible care and the community that feels like family. 💙

This right here. 💗 Makes my heart so happy 💕

Charlie was playing football at recess, fully included and taking the challenge on in stride. These kids don’t just let him join — they cheered him on and made him feel like the MVP every time.

With it being Pink Shirt Day, it was powerful to see the kindness and inclusion come so naturally.

This is what belonging looks like💕💕

Another big milestone for Charlie! He’s been thriving at school and his endurance has been amazing, so we decided to extend his school day by an extra hour. Now he gets to enjoy recess and lunch with his friends! He was beyond excited to pack his lunch—we spent two hours at the grocery store picking out all the perfect snacks together.

Well… we had a last-minute change of plans! Charlie was supposed to head to Chicago on Friday for Botox, but thanks to some insurance hiccups (oh, the joy of insurance 🙃), that didn’t happen.

The silver lining? Charlie got to go on his class field trip to the skating rink instead! He decided not to get out on the ice — they even had special chairs he could’ve been pushed in — but he still had a great time and definitely drew quite the crowd. 😊

I’m so grateful for the awesome staff at school that makes sure he’s included in all the fun adventures. It means more than I can say. 💙

This shirt couldn’t be more accurate right now. 😅 Thank you Mrs. Black!!!!

Recovery from a traumatic brain injury sometimes means the “pause button” is still under construction. Impulse control can take time to come back, which means thoughts don’t always wait their turn before coming out.

So if the face says it or the mouth says it… just know it’s part of the healing journey❤️

We’re making progress, learning patience, and finding humor wherever we can. And honestly? The honesty keeps things interesting. 💚

Charlie just keeps pushing forward—both in his day-to-day life and in therapy. His left-handed handwriting has improved so much, he’s participating more at school, and you can really see his confidence and independence growing. We’re so proud of the progress he’s making every single day. 💙
