🚨 Important Update on the I-84 Fire 🚨 On July 19, 2025, the team is currently responding to a fire at MM65 I-84. The fire is still active and has spread over 8,902 acres. As of the last update at 6:00 PM, there are no evacuation orders or road closures in place, so you can still travel through the area without issues. Sadly, there has been damage to at least one outbuilding. Let's send our support to the brave firefighters working hard to contain this blaze! Stay safe, everyone! 🌲🔥

NEWS RELEASE
On June 28, 2025, at approximately 1407 hours, The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Castle Creek campground located in the Boise National Forest. The initial report indicated that an adult male had been in the water swimming near Castle Creek and had gone under and had not resurfaced.
Upon receiving the call, the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division, Pine Featherville Ambulance, Elmore County Search and Rescue and other deputies arrived on scene and began initial searching.
First responders were able to locate the missing individual prior to Twin Falls County Dive team arriving on scene.
This is an ongoing investigation, and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the drowning.
The name of the deceased will not be given at this time until the family can be notified.
The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone to recreate safely while out on the water.
