A possible discrepancy involving the outcome of the Nov. 4 elections in Elmore County prompted county officials to notify the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office as part of the process to review the impact associated with the outcome of the votes cast.
Following a further review and consultation conducted by county officials Nov. 17, they determined about 300 ballots cast were not tallied or included in the final results of this month’s elections.
“Needless to say, this situation is very concerning,” said Secretary of State Phil McGrane in a press release shared with the Mountain Home News. “We are taking this matter seriously and will pursue every available path to ensure the will of the voters is accurately reflected in the results. Every vote matters, and we are committed to the accuracy and integrity of Idaho’s elections.”
The Mountain Home News plans to release additional information regarding this potential election discrepancy as it becomes available.
