Arkansas’s deer season is split into several segments, with hunters having already harvested and checked more than 47,700 deer so far during archery season, alternative fi****ms season and last weekend’s youth deer hunt. Those early seasons are only appetizers compared to modern gun season, which opens Saturday, Nov. 8. Historically, deer hunters have checked more than 30,000 deer in the two-day weekend opener.

Teachers were selected by partnering with school administration based on classroom needs. In total, 137 teachers at K-12 public state-funded schools across the bank’s four-state footprint received a $500 award.

The event is set for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 8, at The Del's West End Social Community Room, 1350 U.S. Hwy. 62 W. Participants will be given a collective total of 500 shoeboxes to personalize and fill with gifts, including shoeboxes for girls ages 2-4 and boxes for boys ages 2-4. Items to fill the shoeboxes have been donated by individuals and businesses. At the Curb and Nomes 2 Bros Tacos food trucks will be on site for food and refreshment.

The community is invited to come together for a fun, festive and very beneficial cause to support Operation Christmas Child by attending a Packing Party on Saturday to help fill boxes for the mission founded by the late Billy Graham.
