Farewell to a Legend: Dr. Kennedy is Retired!!

With deep appreciation and full hearts, we announce Dr. Kennedy’s retirement from Muleshoe Animal Clinic. After decades of unwavering service, expert care, and muddy boots in pastures across West Texas, Dr. Kennedy is officially hanging up his stethoscope.

From pre-dawn herd checks and late-night calvings to farm calls in blizzards and ring-side advice at the county shows, Dr. Kennedy has been a trusted hand for cattlemen, ranchers, and show families alike. Whether treating a colicky mare or helping a kid fine-tune their show heifer, he showed up every time—with knowledge, patience, and genuine heart.

His grit, integrity, and vast knowledge have made him a pillar of the livestock community. He’s mentored young veterinarians, served generations of farm families, and been a lifeline in emergencies too numerous to count.

While he may be stepping out of the chute and away from the clinic, his legacy will remain strong in every life he’s touched—human and animal alike.

Larry Seales, President of the Muleshoe Ex-Students Association, presented Earl Behrends, President of the Bailey County Senior Citizens, a check for using the senior center during the July 5th all school reunion. Larry reported that 225 former Muleshoe students attended the reunion.
