Privately held Woof Boom Radio was formed in 2013 to restore local control to radio listeners in east central Indiana, Woof Boom Radio has acquired it’s first six radio stations with a combined reach of an estimated 89,400 weekly listeners. Woof Boom Radio is managed by radio industry veteran J Chapman, who is committed to passionate, local leadership in radio to benefit local communities, advertisers, and listeners.

Today our Director of Technical Operations Sean Mattingly celebrates his 42 year Woof Boom-iversary.

Fresh out of high school in 1984, Sean sat down at our audio consoles and never looked back. When he wasn't mastering the tape machines, he was deepening his expertise through Ivy Tech's electronics programs, because Sean doesn't just keep the stations on air, he understands them from the ground up.

Today, as our Director of Technical Operations, Sean keeps it all running...11 studios, our tower and transmitter sites, and everything in between, including our high-tech computer networking. If there's a wire, a signal, or a frequency anywhere at Woof Boom, Sean's got it covered.

Oh, and one more thing...have you ever seen this man on the basketball court? 🏀 Let's just say we're all very lucky he chose radio over the Harlem Globetrotters.

Thirteen years ago, J stepped into the role of President and has been keeping the airwaves alive and rockin' every single day since. A lifelong broadcaster and proud second-generation radio man, J started his career as a TV sportscaster before working his way through sales, management, and now leading the whole pack at Woof Boom.
