Cousin’s Cruel Ultimatum: Calling Out Her Selfishness, Justified or Too Harsh?

I know the title looks bad, but hear me out. This is my first time posting here, and excuse my typing ahead of time. This happened a few months back, but the subject was brought back up recently, and while I myself feel I'm right, I recognize I may have been unjustly harsh in the delivery.

A few years ago my cousin started seeing a married man, he eventually left his 4 year old son(at the time) and his wife of 10 years for her. They marry soon after and have been together ever since. I hadn't seen my cousin in over 10 years, and was fairly excited to see her, her kids, as well as the rest of my family. After a good meal, a day of visiting and reminiscing we were all sitting around a bonfire drinking spiked hot chocolate and just laughing and 'shootin the s__t. Someone brought up the subject on how she met her husband.

She said she met him at work, that they had worked on a project together and she found him extremely attractive(he is, I'll give him that)and she knew he was married w) a child, but didnt care and decided she wanted him and took him. Now, to me, this was bad enough, but......
She proceeded in adding that after they married, that they tried the weekend "visitation thing" with his son, but she didn't like him. She wanted a child of her own, and didn't want a constant reminder of his life before, so she told her husband that she would only have his children and...

AITAH For telling my friend her kid is a demon?

I (27F) I am currently having complications with a friend that we will call Karen (28f) for this situation. So some context on the situation is I have a lot of kids, and I mean a lot (3 weeks from due date currently) I'm also typically our friend groups trusted babysitter when anybody has something come up with their daycare. So I'm pretty used to an array of different personalities when it comes to kids in my everyday life.

Myself and this friend have two very different parenting styles, I'm more communicative and personally don't believe in corporal punishment as redirection/explanations make more sense to me. She is more of the southern style of raise her voice, if you don't hear her the first time, you're gonna feel her hand on the second. That being said, I have finally came to the conclusion of I just can't watch her oldest kid anymore.

I don't think I've ever met a more angry child before in my life, and I'm by no means blaming the child for his temperament, but it's just not something that I can personally handle anymore. He doesn't follow any sort of directions, even simple ones, without lashing out violently. He goes out of his way to physically hurt anything without any warning and I mean anything.

The cat, any child, big kid, adult, the freaking house plants. The scary part is he always laughs and then follows up with name calling, swearing, or a lovely shrieking sound that would put any coyote to shame. I know this is really messed up to...

AITAH for not wanting my husband's mom at our wedding?

For context: My husband and I got married in a court house 2 years ago. I told my husband to tell his family but he didn't want to since his family wasn't my biggest fan. His family can be extremely judgemental and have said they "didn't like me or my character" because I grew up in a place completely opposite of where they're from. Every time I had met with his family some type of drama would unfold. For example , his mom accused me of "touching" his brothers leg inappropriately at his grandfather's funeral. I slapped his knee because he told me a joke I thought was funny. I chalked it up to the fact she just lost her dad , she didn't like me , so she needed someone to take some type of anger out on . I put up with alot more than that for my husband since i never wanted to be the type of person to ask him to chose.

5 months ago I had our second child. When I had found out I was pregnant my husband and I were going through a rough patch, we almost divorced because of a lot of things his mother being one of them. We decided to really work on our marriage and we've been amazing ever since. The best we've ever been. During my pregnancy his mother and I got really close. I'd like to say im a really forgiving person and try to see the best in everyone , also it was making my husband happy. She even came down to stay with us...

AITA for asking money for the food I bought for friend’s wedding?

I am 28F living in DE with a well-paid job, currently supporting both, myself and my bf, who lost his job. Recently, I was invited to a two-day Spanish-Italian wedding as the bride's witness. The two day event was held three hours away from the city and included a wedding ceremony, lunch, party and next day a barbecue to celebrate the relative's birthday.

We were told not to bring any gifts as the couple has planned second wedding in Italy for 80+ people and rented out a mansion. The groom's family is very rich. As a witness and best friend, I always went above and beyond by helping her in every day life.

For the wedding I rented a car for +250 euro, I was picking up guests and helping a lot with logistics (bringing ppl from and to the airport). However, things took a weird turn when I arrived to the barbecue and was told that there is not enough food for us and we have to go shopping. Fine, it happens, we made a list of groceries for ourselves.

While we shopped, I got calls from the hosts to buy more food. My bf was even asked to get fresh bread. At the barbecue, I was asked to help with cooking which I ended up doing for one hour.

The food which we bought was distributed around all tables, meaning that we kinda sponsored the barbecue which we were invited to? The stupidest moment was that when my bf asked for bread, he wasn't allowed to take the fresh bread he bought?...

AITA for telling my biological sisters I don't want to meet our Bio parents?

I (30F) am a Chinese woman who was adopted from Mainland China when I was a baby and grew up in the UK, I grew curious of my roots and if I had any family out there so I took a 23andMe test, I found four full sisters through this test, i'm the oldest. My sisters are 29, 28, 24 and 20. The three middle sisters are in America and the youngest is in Germany. We have kept in contact via the internet and have even met in person twice before covid started.

I have two brothers I grew up with who are my parents biological sons and as far as i'm concerned they and my parents are my true family but I have grown close to my biological sisters as we understand each other a lot.

What my parents know of my birth story is that I was found in an alleyway in a box. My sisters were found relatively the same way from what they know though they were left outside of buildings in public areas so i'm a bit more bitter than they are about how we were abandoned as I was left out of the way where I could have been missed.

We recently got contacted by a new family member found by the test, an 18 year old full brother who lives in France with our bio parents. Apparently they moved there later in life. My biological sisters are excited by this and eager to meet them, They want the five of us to fly out together to meet our...

AITA For “exposing” my mom and sistser?

Ok so I f14 have a sister f16 (who I’ll call “S”), constantly steals from me and messes up my things. I’ve tried talking to my parents about it, but they shrug it off and say that sisters do things like that. It’s gotten so bad that I have to hide or move valuable items out of the house, in fear that she’ll break or steal them.

Three weeks ago, I received money from my aunt and friend for my birthday. I was excited because I‘ve wanted AirPods for a while now and I finally had enough money to get them. I kept the money in a box and put it in my drawer. About a week ago, I wanted to go to the gas station so I went to get the money but when I checked it wasn’t there. I went and asked my mom if she’d seen it to which she replied yes.

She told me that my sister went snooping in my room and wanted the money and my mom “didn’t have the heart to say no”. So she let her take it. I went to my sister's room and demanded she gives me my money back. She told me that she already spent it and that I “should’ve hidden it better, if I didn't want it stolen”. I was livid. I stormed to my room and stayed there for the rest of the day.

Two days ago while out shopping with my aunt she asked if I had gotten the AirPods that I had been wanting. I told her no and...

AITA for telling my aunt to get it together at her daughters wedding?

TA account

My cousin “Tanya” just got married. Everything was beautiful and I had the honor of being a part of the bridal party. Everyone in the party had a role to play and mine was practically “quality control” for lack of better words. I basically had to go around and make sure people were where they needed to be for pictures, activities, etc. to keep things moving

First everything was like butter but I realized my aunt “Carrie” (MOB) kept disappearing and making things fall behind. Not too much a deal in the beginning, but it seemed like as the reception went on Carrie kept making announcements to literally anyone she passed that she had to step away for a minute because it was an emotional day.

It started to become a scene as seemingly every 20 minutes or so you could see her dramatically wiping her face and climbing over people to speed walk out of the hall to let it out. People quickly got annoyed but didn’t say anything and I tried to ignore it myself but it came to head when Tanya was waiting for pictures and Carrie was nowhere to be found.

I figured she was having a cry but after 10-15 minutes Tanya got really worried. A few of us went to search and it took us nearly 30 minutes to locate her. By the time I get her back it’s been nearly an hour and now things are thrown off/Tanya’s tensions were high. On the way back she kept repeating she’s emotional and it’s a big day....

AITAH for not delivering the food I made to an event I got uninvited to?

Two weeks ago I got invited to a baby shower from a friend who I haven't seen in years. She moved to another state but had apparently moved back and now is having her baby shower here. I was so excited since I haven't seen her in so long.

She started a gc with all the mutuals she invited. She did disclose that this was gonna be a quick and small one since she had just found out she was pregnant when she was 35 weeks with an induction scheduled on her 37th week. We all started volunteering to be responsible for different things for the baby shower.

I said I'll cook Filipino food and help pay for some of the decor. I sent money to the friend who was in charge of decorating. I asked mom-to-be how many people are invited besides the ladies in the gc.

She told me 15. There's 10 of us in gc including me so I thought I'll cook for 50 people to be on the safe side just in case she invited a few more. I started shopping for ingredients for the lumpia, pancit, chicken adobo and rice and a grazing table.

I started prepping and coordinating with the decor lady. We figured where we wanted the food and grazing table and told the MTB. She approved.

Now the day before her baby shower, I spent the WHOLE day cooking. I took off the day(I only work part time since I'm the primary caretaker for my baby while my man works). Mind you, I had to...

AITA for locking a woman and her young kid out of the gym?

I manage a gym that is open 24 hours but there are not staff in the club 24 hours. I specifically ask members to please not bring in their kids. Not only for safety concerns but because for most people this is their 'me' time.

My club does not have any sort of daycare at all. Even the lounge area is around a corner where you wouldn't be able to see it while working out on 90% of the equipment. Before I started getting more strict on children, parents would seat their kids in the lounge, put on their headphones, and leave their child unsupervised for over an hour.

I have a giant window in my office that allows me to be able to see into that sitting area and so for over an hour I am constantly running out my office to try to stop a kid from pushing one of our emergency buttons. 9/10 there would be broken toys, crumbs, drink spills, or sticky finger prints everywhere when they finally leave. What ended up pushing me to the point of hardly allowing children at all was watching a kid running through the club and running under someone who was struggling to hold up an overhead press.

After that I put signs up all over the gym about no children. Now, what happens when I leave at night to go home is another story. Despite the entire club being covered in cameras and every members key being logged when they enter the club, people think that there would be no way for me to...

AITAH for using and keeping Kachina Dolls even though I’m not Native American?

To clarify. I’m white and genetically I have no genetic links to Native American culture.

However, before I was born my grandma met the mom of my adopted aunts and uncles while she was dying of cancer. She asked my grandma to adopt her kids when she was gone. After their local Navajo Nation voted. My grandma adopted them.

I grew up with my aunts and uncles wanting to share their culture with us (we learned to make Navajo fry bread with the women on the reservation, the medicine man visited us as babies, etc. but one of my favorite things was a set of Kachina dolls I was given when I was a little girl.

I have some college friends who have told me that keeping them is cultural appropriation. With my aunts and uncles I walk a thin line between loving them, allowing them to pass parts of their culture on that they love, and wanting to appreciate where they come from. While not culturally appropriating.

Does it make me the AH for having stuff like that my aunts and uncles have made for me or had other relatives make on the reservation and then bring back to me? Is it wrong and cultural appropriation? Even if they are my family? Not by blood? But at the end of the day some of my friends think I’m just being stubborn and need to get rid of all the stuff they have given over the years and I disagree.

Edit: So my aunt hand made them for me when she moved back...
