Now that so much is being done with AI, it needs to be said that human authenticity with all of its imperfections and rawness- that can never be replaced. Now, I do use AI for many practical purposes at work and at home managing my projects and managing my household in lots of practical ways. I mean, I work in tech now.

But, what about making art for the art's sake? It matters. Art matters. Real, genuine art made by real, genuine human souls matters. This reminds me so much of why I fell in love with making music in the first place. It wasn't to "make it", it was never about that. Honestly, I don't know how to put my finger on it exactly what it is that drives and compels us to create. Music is the place where the left brain and right brain dance together. Art matters for its own sake to not be perfect, synthetic, white-washed, and disposable.

I hope that whatever is going on leads to more human authenticity in music and art. Warren's video here reminds me of why I fell in love with the craft of producing music.

Why Personal Branding Is the Smartest Investment You Can Make

“I don’t want our marketing to depend on me and my personal brand.”

I used to say the same thing.

And if I’m honest, I was afraid. Afraid of looking like I was making it “about me,” afraid of being misunderstood, of overstepping, of the perception that I was putting myself ahead of the work. I wanted the music to speak for itself. The studio to be the draw. The results to be enough.

So I hid. I let the logos, the gear, the big tracking rooms do the talking. I stayed in the background because it felt safer there. And for a while, I believed that was the right approach.

But then I looked around.

I’d run multiple studios, from small private rooms to large commercial facilities. The ones that stayed busy, the ones that thrived, were never the ones with the most gear or the flashiest control rooms. They were the ones where the engineers and producers built real trust, real relationships, and a real reputation.

🎶 From Music Production to Web Development: A New Journey Begins 🎶

It’s been a little quiet here lately, but for the past few months, I’ve been diving deep into web development and just wrapped up a coding bootcamp! 🎓

Interestingly, I’ve found that many of the skills I’ve honed in music production—like creativity, project management, and problem-solving—carry over beautifully into coding. One key area where both worlds overlap is staying organized.

As a new bootcamp grad, I’ve been focused on building a portfolio that I can really be proud of. Along the way, I’ve made mistakes, learned from them, and gained some solid insights. Every new project brings the challenge of keeping things neat, accessible, and ready to shine when it’s time to share.

I recently wrote an article about the strategies I found helpful for organizing web projects, hoping it might help others on a similar path.
